Helmets have many functions, such as windproof, rain proof, insect proof and cold proof, but the more important function is to ensure personal safety. Therefore, the safety performance of the helmet must be taken into account when choosing a helmet. The following points should be paid attention to when purchasing helmets:
1. Safety signs. Domestic helmets shall be subject to production license and national safety standards. All imported motorcycle safety helmets shall have the following safety signs: TIS for Japanese products, SNE for American products, and ECE for European products.
2. Strength test. When purchasing a helmet, you can turn it over and hold it in your hand, and press it inwards on the front, back and sides of the helmet to see if it is easy to deform. If the helmet is easy to deform or soften, the head will be impacted in the event of an accident and will not play a good role in protection.
3. Try on. When trying on, the key is to feel. First, whether its shape and size are appropriate. Because too tight will make the head have a sense of compression, or even dizziness, which will affect driving safety; If it is too loose, the helmet will shake and fall off. If it is slightly impacted, the helmet will fly far away from people. The ideal feeling is that the whole head is in contact with the lining, and the cheek is closer to the lower cheek
Tight. But never oppress the ears. In addition, check the ventilation holes, hat bands, goggles, etc. As for the style and color of the helmet, it is OK to consider personal hobbies and harmony.
Use of safety helmets
1. Do not use helmets that have been greatly impacted. If the helmet falls down from the higher point of the motorcycle with the top facing up, the helmet can still be used. If the helmet falls down with the top facing down, the helmet will be seriously damaged and can no longer be used. Helmets that have had accidents cannot be used.
2. Do not put the helmet on the rearview mirror after the motorcycle stops. Because the mirror angle of the rear-view mirror will deform the helmet lining material and make this part lose its cushioning effect, if it is really necessary to put it on the vehicle, it is better to use the handlebar and the end of the handlebar to hang it.
3. When driving, you must wear the helmet on your head. If it is really necessary to put the helmet on the vehicle for driving, it can only be put on the back seat and fixed with a mesh. It is also not allowed to hang the helmet on the elbow during driving, which is too dangerous.
4. Some motorcycles are equipped with helmet hooks, which are used when parking. Helmets are unstable when driving, and may cause damage to the helmet.
5. When someone is going out, he or she will take off his or her helmet and sit as a stool after parking, which will not only lose elegance, but also have a negative impact on the helmet.
6. Some people like to add decorations on helmets, which is not conducive to safety, especially when labeling goggles.
Maintenance of safety helmet
1. Internal cleaning. When the helmet is used for a long time, there is often dirt accumulation inside the helmet, and odor will be produced. In this case, it should be cleaned. It is better to use neutral detergent, and better to use shampoo. In order to avoid peculiar smell left by the detergent, its usage should be controlled. Do not use too much force when washing the inside of the helmet. Otherwise, the cushion material will deform and lose its cushioning function. After cleaning, wipe off the water with towel or paper towel, and: put it in a ventilated place for natural air drying. Never use a hair dryer.
2. Surface maintenance. Compared with the inside of the helmet, the surface of the helmet is more likely to be dirty, so wiping the surface is often done. When there is a stain on the helmet, first wipe the stain with a damp cloth, and then rub it with wax or polishing wax to make the helmet clean and bright. It can also use helmet specific brightener, with better effect.
3. Maintenance of goggles. Since the goggles are transparent devices, be careful when wiping them. When cleaning the goggles, add neutral detergent into the water, scrub with hands, then thoroughly clean with tap water, and then wipe the water with cotton soft cloth or paper towel. Later, the wax or anti-static agent is rubbed on the outer surface of the device, which can reduce the adhesion of dust and speed up the flow of rainwater. The inside of the goggles should be coated with anti fog agent, which plays an important role in reducing fog adhesion at night. Of course, when you put down your goggles and drive in rainy days, you should also pay attention to the breathing method to reduce the fog on the mirror.
