At present, the common helmets are mainly divided into full helmet, 3/4 helmet, faceless helmet, half helmet and pull helmet (cross-country helmet).

Full face

Full helmet is a kind of helmet with better protection ability. All major motorcycle events and high-end players use this helmet. Full helmet can cover all parts of the head, including the jaw, to provide all-round protection.

In addition, the performance helmet has also been aerodynamically designed to cooperate with the body streamline when riding at high speed, providing better air mobility, while cooling and ventilation through the set air passage, bringing better comfort.

The disadvantage is that it is troublesome to wear, and if there is no glasses socket, it is not friendly to the knights who rely on glasses.

3/4 Helmet (Open Face)

Compared with full helmets, 3/4 helmets lack jaw protection, and some models of masks (windshields) will also be omitted.

The 3/4 helmet can provide facial permeability and comfort, and because it is similar to the early pilot helmets, the 3/4 helmet also has a lot of bonus points for improving the power grid.

However, about 30% of motorcycle accidents will fall to the chin, so the protection of 3/4 helmet is not very comprehensive.

Uncover helmet (Modular, flip up)

The helmet can be understood as a variant of the full helmet. When necessary, the mask can be turned up through the joints for easy removal. When it is pulled up at low speed, it can be breathable. When it is closed, it is full face. Of course, the structural strength will be affected, but the difference will not be too big.

Uncover helmets are more commonly used for long-distance riding or knights who need to wear them for a long time, such as motorcycle enthusiasts and mounted police on duty. You don't need to take off your helmet when you stop to "suck one". You will smoke when you open it~

Skull cap

Half helmets are jokingly called "water ladles" by domestic knights. Before the issuance of the Compulsory Product Certification Rules for Motorcycle Crew Helmets by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China in November last year, water ladles helmets were the main force on the road, and even the riders' helmets issued by delivery platforms such as kangaroos were water ladles helmets.

Half helmets only provide poor head protection, so they can only be used for low-speed driving or perfunctory regulations.

Pull/Off road helmet

The off-road helmet is a special helmet for special roads, which is of little significance to ordinary road conditions.

The cross-country helmet strengthens the jaw protection on the basis of the full helmet, and has a brim on the forehead to block dust and sunlight. It may not have an eye mask for air circulation, so additional goggles are required. The wind resistance is quite high. It is usually only used on off-road vehicles. The motorcycle team of the famous Dakar Rally will wear this helmet.

Motorcyclists' habit of wearing helmets originated from the famous cyclist SNELL's death in a motorcycle race held in California, USA in 1956.
